In concert with the Wisconsin Idea, BIOS shares what we’ve learned from sports research and innovation. BIOS shares with the UW athletic department, the UW-Madison campus, the state of Wisconsin, and beyond in order to “grow the good” of the world in and through sports.
To share or exchange information, news, or ideas. BIOS communicates in four primary fashions:
- BIOS collaborates with other UW Athletics units to maximize efficiency and impacts of research/athletics connections.
- BIOS shares key findings from research and innovation with UW Athletics and the broader UW-Madison campus.
- BIOS engages individuals, organizations, and communities throughout the state – consistent with the Wisconsin idea – providing our latest learnings.
- In concert with UW-Madison’s Research-1 identity, BIOS advances the field of scholarship on athletics, nationally and internationally.
BIOS hosts meetings, seminars, and conferences in the Fetzer Center-based BIOS office and also in other campus spaces. Additionally, we aim to “go where the people are” – we strategically communicate BIOS learnings virtually (BIOS webspace and social media) and at major UW athletics events throughout the country. Finally, to support the flourishing of sports throughout our state, BIOS actively engages Wisconsin’s schools, organizations, coaches, families, and athletes.
